Our Review: The Bad Guy by Celia Aaron

We first fell in love with Celia Aaron after reading Blackwood.  When the opportunity came around to review The Bad Guy, we were all over it.

Synopsis:

My name is Sebastian Lindstrom, and I’m the villain of this story.

I’ve decided to lay myself bare. To tell the truth for once in my hollow life, no matter how dark it gets. And I can assure you, it will get so dark that you’ll find yourself feeling around the blackened corners of my mind, seeking a door handle that isn’t there.

Don’t mistake this for a confession. I neither seek forgiveness nor would I accept it. My sins are my own. They keep me company. Instead, this is the true tale of how I found her, how I stole her, and how I lost her.

She was a damsel, one who already had her white knight. But every fairy tale has a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all down. A scoundrel who will set the world on fire if that means he gets what he wants. That’s me.

I’m the bad guy.

Author's Note: This is a dark romance with an HEA and no cheating.

Our Opinion:

Is it weird to say, I loved the villain?  This review will be difficult.  As you can see in the synopsis, the author gave away very little about what the story is about.  So I will see if I can summarize and do this review without giving away the good stuff...because this whole book is full of good stuff.

The story is about Camille, a science teacher at a private school, who is the subject of Sebastian's hyper-focused attention after their first encounter.  Sebastian is so taken with her that he devises a plan to garner her attention...albeit a very bad plan.

And that is basically all I want to tell you.

Look.  This book is FANTASTIC!  If you are a fan of the dark romance genre, then this book should be on your must read list.

The story is phenomenal and by the end I hated the good guy and was cheering for the bad guy.  Everything I needed from a Dark Romance was here.  I laughed a little, it was hot in all the right places and I even cried...FOR SEBASTIAN!  This story pulled at me emotionally and I loved it!

I am pretty sure I will never be disappointed by anything Celia Aaron writes.  A mastermind at the dark romance, she has me hooked for life.

The Bad Guy is getting 5 Stars.
