Review Time: Pitch Dark by A.M. Wilson and Alex Grayson
SYNOPSIS:
One girl disappeared. After fifteen years, her cold lifeless body was found on the damp forest floor. Not an inch of her was unmarked by the horrors she endured. Alone, malnourished, abused in horrific ways; this was how she died.
One girl was found walking the streets, covered in dirt and scars. She had no memory of who she was, where she came from, or what happened to her. Even though the marks on her body attested to years of heinous abuse, her strength shone through at every turn.
Revenge and justice were sworn.
Years of searching brought up nothing but dead ends. Detective Niko James was too late to save his childhood friend, but he vows not to let down another.
The clock is ticking and the trail is pitch dark.

OUR OPINION:
As a huge fan of Alex Grayson, I knew that anything she did was going to be marvelous. Then she added the crazy talented A.M. Wilson...and blew my mind. I love the darker reads above all else. They always push me to my limits and the reading hangovers I get are always worth it!
Pitch Dark was AMAZING! It really, REALLY pushed me to expand my mind a bit more than normal.
I thought the whole story line worked. It was all very believable and sucks you in right from the start. When I got to the "reveal" part of this book, I was really shocked. I'd like to say I saw it coming but I was taken completely by surprise!
Niko's pain over losing his best friend Aislin, was palpable. It was intense to feel the guilt and sadness throughout this book and it was easy to see why he was so devoted to Doe. He just wasn't willing to let it happen again. She was his redemption from his perceived previous failure. Doe really was a great match for Niko. As she recovered from her situation, you could really see her strength grow and I found myself amazed by it at every turn. When you would expect someone to give up...she dug in. I loved these characters and I thought they were well thought out and written extremely well.
Pitch Dark hit every single one of my must haves for a dark romance read. It is a standalone novel and I was able to read it in a little over 4 hours. This book is worth your time.
Overly pleased with this one, I am giving it 5 stars.
