SYNOPSIS:

“Ti amerò per sempre,” he had told her, but how long is forever?

At twenty, after a tragic loss, Lissa fled Italy and Roberto. Four years later, she is again fleeing a relationship, this time returning to Italy, a place where she had once tasted freedom.

Seven years her senior, entrepreneur businessman, Roberto had stepped back and released Lissa.
Resigned to his future without her, Roberto has moved on, father to a deaf son with a woman in the wings.

Lissa’s acceptance of the position to tutor his son acts as a catalyst that draws them back together. Despite the attraction that threatens to consume them, they need to confront their past hurts and betrayals before they can face their future.

Forever is impossible to imagine when yesterday blocks the path.

OUR OPINION:

Lizel Harvey is a new author to me and I have to say I am interested to see where this author takes her writing.

Love Rekindled is a sweet story about a second chance romance set in Italy.  There is a ton of back and forth between Lissa and Roberto while they get used to each other being back in one another's life.  These are the moments that pull on your heart strings...you know there is so much hurt from their past and they are so determined to overcome it.

Probably my favorite character in this story is Roberto's son.  I love stories where kids play important roles.  Fabri was fun and I loved seeing him bond with Lissa.  I think he really pulled this story together and made it very heartwarming.

For some readers, the amount of sex in a story is important.  While Roberto and Lissa do engage a lot, the author didn't get carried away with detail, so this book would be ideal for people who don't enjoy an overabundance of detailed sex.

Also important in a story is a little bit of drama and while there was underlying drama consistently throughout, we were really given a good dose 3/4 of the way through.  On.edge!

The author frequently uses Italian throughout this story adding to the originality and romance of this book.

Love Rekindled is told in alternating first person.  Reading time was a little over 3 hours for me.  It is listed as Italian Kisses book #1, and I do enjoy a good series.  I am really interested to see where the author takes this series.

I am giving Love Rekindled 4 stars.
